Heather Smith is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is from Warren, Pennsylvania and now lives in Cary with her husband and daughter. Heather graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000. While at Penn State she was able to study nursing abroad while living in Sweden. After graduation, it was time to move south. She worked at UNC HealthCare for many years as a bedside nurse, educator and Nurse Manager. Heather then completed her Master of Nursing degree at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007.
Mrs. Smith has over 18 years of clinical experience in Women’s Health. She is passionate about providing quality care and educating both the patient and her family. She is a Clinical Instructor for the Nurse Practitioner program at Duke University. In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with family and friends and play games with her daughter.
“I feel very fortunate and blessed to be a part of a woman’s journey as she progresses through various phases of life. I think my personal favorite is being present when a new mom hears her baby’s heartbeat for the very first time. Women’s health requires a great deal of education which I truly enjoy.”
